WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 9-5-2010

We thank God for the message by S. Nick Muehling.  Please pray for him so that he and his wife, Sandy, love our Lord Jesus first as disciples of Jesus.

Through this message we learn:

First, Jesus calls his disciples to love him first and most forsaking all others.  This is a call for become Jesus’ disciples first. As Jesus’ disciples we have duty to love our God and our neighbors—particularly our family members.

Second, Christian life is like building a tower and going into a war.  We all need building processes to be more like Jesus—in our character, faith, and strength. We also need to stop fighting God and accepting his terms of peace—it is to give up everything.  In doing so, we become salty Christian.  Having something unique as a Christian we have the mark as Christian and influence this world.

2. The next three week’s message schedule is as follows:
September 12 (Ezra 7:  Paul Hong)
September 19 (John 12: Mark Gamber)
September 26 (Gal 5: Peter Park)

3. Last Friday we had Student Night at the Student Union. We thank God for Jason Roth’s message. Students (Kari Cawood, Johnny Wilson, Courtney Richards,  Nathaline Chiu, Alex Helfrich and Judy Studer) also participated with their testimonies.  In the same room Narrow Gate Fellowship meet each Monday. Please pray for Narrow Gate Fellowship.

WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 5-30-2010

1. We thank God for the message today by Dr. Paul Hong.  Through this message we learn:

First, Joseph settled his family to Egypt (46:1-47:12). Joseph devised, coordinated, communicated and implemented the plan of settlement well. He made his family members to be responsible by hard work, useful with their skills and independent by depending on God.

Second, Joseph’s stewardship in the time of famine (47:13-31). Joseph made people to pay for what they receive.  Joseph did not give grain freely.  Joseph created value in his work.  Joseph devised a system of fair governance,.

Third, Joseph received Jacob’s blessings (48:1-49:33). Real success is not about what we do well, but what those after us do better. This requires humility to allow our sons and daughters and those whom we serve to become a part of something bigger than our own.

The essence of stewardship is to acknowledge that (1) God owns all (2) we take responsibility for what is entrusted to us—this life, family and work.

2. Yesterday we had Great Lakes Region Meeting at Cleveland.  We thank God for the fine hospitality of Cleveland UBF.  The next meeting will be held in Pittsburgh.  Through this meeting we had chances to consider objectives, themes, programs and organization plan details.  Within two weeks we will specific plans and follow them up.

3. Pray for Stewardship Symposium.  Those who would participate will be meeting on Tuesday 7:00 P.M.

4. Pray for Kirk Kayser.  Pray for his daily bread training and 1:1 studies.  His change and growth is important for his own life and the student ministry in Toledo and beyond.

5. Please pray for Latin American Conference which will start from July 22-25 (Mexico), July 29-August 1(Bolivia), August 5-8 (Venezuela).

6.   Finally, tomorrow is Memorial Day. Today, as our deep appreciation of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and prosperity, let’s take a moment of prayer together.

2009 Christmas Worship Service

This year University Bible Fellowship will hold it’s annual Christmas Worship service before the Christmas break on Sunday, December 6th beginning at 2:00 P.M. The theme of our program is “A Savior Has Been Born to You” (Luke 2:11). Jesus is the Savior who came in the form of a baby to save all people from the wages of sin through His death and resurrection. Christmas is the time to worship our Lord Jesus as our Christ our Savior.

Our celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ will include a Christmas message, music, chorus and a movie drama as our prayer for college students throughout the world.  A freewill offering will be taken as a part of our regular worship service and there will be a short reception immediately after. We look forward to worshipping our Lord Jesus together with you on this special occasion.
