WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 7-25-2010

1.   We thank God for the message by Dr. Paul Hong today.  This is the follow-up study of the theme “The Vision of God”. God’s vision is to bring people of all nations through Christ. God’s vision is to include each of us in this purpose. Through this message we learn

First, God is not a stranger but our Savior.  God is the right Person who commands us to sing and shout for joy even when we feel barren (helpless, useless and hopeless). God encourages us to control our emotion for hope and joy.

Second, God’s prescriptions are to: (1) Enlarge the place of our tent (i.e., intent and resolve to do God’s purpose) (b) Stretch the tent curtains wide (i.e., take an important first step) (c) Lengthen the cords (i.e., Follow through with prayerful actions); (4) Strengthen the stakes (i.e., complete the work).

Third, we will spread out right and left and our descendants will dispossess nations.  We take actions in our tent level.  God expands our influence and bless our children in the scale of cities and nations.

2.   Latin American Conferences are in progress.  Today, the Central America Conference in Mexico is over.  Next week is in Bolivia (Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay). Please pray for this conference. Dr. Paul and Sarah Hong will attend this conference.

3.   Next Sunday Dr. Tom Kalapos will come and speak on Sunday.  His family will come as well.

4.   In the month of August we will prepare for the Fall Semester.  Please pray for student leaders of Narrow Gate Fellowship to enlarge their place of tent, stretch their tent curtains wide, lengthen their cords and strengthen their stakes.

5. There will be more guests during the month of July and August. Toledo UBF will serve them with our best.

WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 7-11-2010

1. We thank God for the message by Dr. Paul Hong today.  Through this message we learn

Life with the right priority for God is not merely for a particular project period. The timeless truth is this: “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given as well”(Mt 6:33). 1 Cor 15:58 says, “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain”. In view of the message of Haggai, our leaders in Toledo give a careful thought on how we will live before God. Just as God stirred up the spirit of Haggai, Joshua and Zerubbabel and all the people, may God stir up the spirit of people here for God and his kingdom as well.

2. Last Friday our leaders shared their testimonies on Stewardship. The time of sharing stewardship on Fridays is now over. During our next three days of prayer, those who would share their testimonies on “Stewardship and Haggai studies” may do so. Write one and half page only. This is practical preparation for GLR conference to receive the message on the Vision of God.

3. Mid-West Region Conference is now over today.  We will have one more week of prayer meeting for Great Lakes Region Conference (TWR).  Specifically, let’s pray for the following:

First, invitation and registration.  Our invitation continues beyond this conference.  We pray for 100 people from Toledo UBF and 70 from other chapters.

Second, messengers (Jeff Gathergood, Sandy Muehling, Brian Karcher, Whit Cha, Daniel Erret and Russell Kille).  There will be two delivery practices on Tuesday (Brian Karcher and Daniel Erett) and Wednesday (Sandy Muehling and Russell Kille).  Last Friday and Saturday both Brian Karcher and Whit Cha came to Toledo for clarity of their messages and worked with Pastor Paul Hong.  They returned their homes with clear message themes.

Other Programs: Break-out sessions.  This Tuesday program leaders will report the status of their programs including Break-out sessions, vision boards, sisters’ preparation.

3. We welcome M. Hannah Kuper from Argentina and Paul Kuper.  God sent this family in Argentina for his purpose.  May God continue to bless this family.  May God help the fruit of their work as well.  Toledo UBF will continue to pray and support Argentine UBF. Let’s pray for Paul Kuper for his resolve for the responsible and blessed life before God.

WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 7-4-2010

1. We thank God for today’s message by Dr. Paul Hong.  Through this message we learn

First, “Your sons and daughters prophesy” (2:14-2:17a).  In the last days God pours our Spirit. Then, sons and daughters (i.e., teenage boys and girls) speak for God. Let’s pray that our Toledo HBF students may grow up to speak for God as Bible teachers.

Second, “young men see vision and old men dream dreams” (2:17b). Biblically, young men are those who are in 20s-50s. Vision is primarily not about personal direction but the direction of God’s people together for God’s world salvation. Individuals, families and nations prosper as they pursue God’s vision; otherwise, they die away.

Third, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” 2:19-21). A wonderful life is the life that depends on God and seeks his blessings. All our vision, dreams and hope come from this loving God and seek his face.

2. We thank God for sending Dr. Paul Koh who presented on God’s vision for North Korea. Let’s pray so that we may be able to support God’s vision for North Korea with his compassion and faith. In the right time some of us may be able to serve in Pyungyang University of Science and Technology as well.

3. Let’s continue to pray for GLR Summer Bible Conference.  We will continue to pray for this conference.  Today, let’s pray for Bowling Green and Columbus UBF.

After this Sunday fellowship leaders will meet briefly to report our registration and invitation.

WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 6-27-2010

1.  We thank God for the message today by Dr. Paul Hong.  Through this message we learn.

First, God created man and woman in his own image and entrusted with his stewardship for the world.  We have all necessary potential (i.e., his capabilities through the image God) and we are able to practice workmanship through our lives.

Second, the stewardship is the joint effort of (1) Adam and Eve (2) Joseph and Asenath. Man and woman fulfill God’s purpose together as they practice the workmanship together.

Third, this life is meant to know God, love God and enjoy him forever.  The good life is meaningful life. In this world, too often we are frightened, afraid and even discouraged. However, all things are fleeting. Rather, keep living this life as a good steward and workman for the life God created for us.

2.  We will continue prayer meetings for Great Lakes Region Summer Bible Conference. God is pleased to give us his kingdom.  May God build his kingdom through us. Let’s work on three things this week (1) registration ob 100; (2) invitation of our friends; (3) meaningful program planning and implementation

3. We had good CBF Bible School.  Nick Muheling speaks briefly on this.  Student Night this coming week.

4. Please pray for Dr. Paul Hong’s continuous recovery and healing.

WEEKLY ANOUNCEMENTS 6-20-2010

1. We thank God for this message by S. Greg Lewis.  Through this message we learned about how to be rich toward God.
First, trust God and learn from the ravens and lilies. (13-30)  No one should be consumed by excessive greed or worry.  Instead we trust the love, power, and provision of the Creator God.  God has a good reason we are the way we are.  We accept this, enjoy life and live as a blessing.
Second, seek his kingdom. (31-32)  We cannot immediately set high and lofty expectations from God.  He is pleased to give us the kingdom.  At the same time, we must seek it.  We learned the manna principle of experiencing God in our needs.  Then greater needs come the require God’s mercy.
Third, store treasure in heaven. (33-34)  This means to invest our time in people, to practice regular offerings, and to pray and invest in world mission.

2. Let’s pray for Dr. Paul Hong.  He may be completed healed and fully recovered soon.

3. Pray for Great Lakes Region Summer Bible Conference.  Let’s get all leaders registered this week.  Registration servants are Mary Seo, Sunyoung Kim, and Greg Lewis.  Prayer meetings will start this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  We also invite all to join in morning devotion at 6 a.m. as well.  Let’s pray for the messengers, Jeff Gathergood, Sandy Muehling, Brian Karcher, Whit Cha, Daniel Errett, and Russell Kille.  Let’s also pray for the creative participation of 24 student leaders among us.

4. We thank God for Kirk Kayser’s return from his short-term mission to Korea.  We will hear his report this Friday and see the fruit of his daily bread and 1:1 training.

5. Very soon will be the Latin American Summer Conferences in Bolivia, Venezuela, and Mexico.  We will support them with our prayers and attendance.  We hope to send and help support a couple more representatives from Toledo UBF to attend.

6. Pray for the Muehling’s and CBF Bible School this week, Thursday to Saturday.

7. Today is Father’s Day, the day to appreciate and thank the fathers and father-like mentors in our life.  Just like Mother’s Day, fathers deserve our love and gratitude.  And what makes godly father’s proud is to see their children managing their life and resources in ways that please God.  We can honor our fathers by learning to be rich toward God.
